Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: (1) Pengaruh penggunaan pembelajaran koopertif TAI dan GI terhadap prestasi belajar siswa. (2) Pengaruh kemampuan awal tinggi dan rendah terhadap prestasi belajar siswa. (3) Pengaruh kemampuan matematik tinggi dan rendah terhadap prestasi belajar siswa, (4) Interaksi antara metode pembelajaran kooperatif TAI dan GI dengan kemampuan awal terhadap prestasi belajar siswa. (5) Interaksi antara metode pembelajaran kooperatif TAI dan GI dengan kemampuan matematik terhadap prestasi belajar siswa, (6) Interaksi antara kemampuan awal dan kemampuan matematik terhadap prestasi belajar siswa, (7) Interaksi antara metode pembelajaran kooperatif TAI dan GI, kemampuan awal dan kemampuan matematik terhadap prestasi belajar siswa.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen. Populasi adalah seluruh kelas X SMA Negeri 3 Magelang tahun pelajaran 2009/2010, sejumlah 6 kelas. Sampel diambil dengan teknik cluster random sampling sejumlah 4 kelas. Teknik pengumpulan data kemampuan awal, kemampuan matematik, dan prestasi belajar kognitif digunakan metode tes, sedangkan prestasi belajar afektif digunakan metode angket. Instrumen diujicobakan di SMA Negeri 2 Magelang. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis variansi tiga jalan dengan sel tak sama.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan: (1) Terdapat pengaruh penggunaan metode pembelajaran TAI dan GI terhadap prestasi belajar kognitif (p=0.004) dan afektif (p=0.002). (2) Terdapat pengaruh kemampuan awal tinggi dan rendah terhadap prestasi belajar kognitif (p=0.005), tetapi tidak terhadap prestasi belajar afektif (p=0.793). (3) Terdapat pengaruh kemampuan matematik tinggi dan rendah terhadap prestasi belajar kognitif (p=0.013) dan afektif (p=0.045), (4) Tidak ada interaksi antara metode pembelajaran TAI dan GI serta tinggi rendahnya kemampuan awal terhadap prestasi belajar baik kognitif (p=0.813) maupun afektif (p=0.581). (5) Tidak ada interaksi antara metode pembelajaran TAI dan GI serta tinggi rendahnya kemampuan matematik terhadap prestasi belajar baik kognitif (p=0.498) maupun afektif (p=0.892). (6) Tidak ada interaksi antara tinggi rendahnya kemampuan awal serta tinggi rendahnya kemampuan matematik terhadap prestasi belajar baik kognitif (p=0.079) maupun afektif (p=0.694), (7) Tidak ada interaksi antara metode pembelajaran TAI dan GI, tinggi rendahnya kemampuan awal dan tinggi rendahnya kemampuan matematik terhadap prestasi belajar baik kognitif (p=0.788) maupun afektif (p=0.252).

The aims of this research were to find out: (1) the effect of cooperative learning by TAI and GI methods toward students achievement. (2) the effect of high prior knowledge and the lower ones toward students achievement. (3) the effect of high mathematic ability and the lower ones toward students achievement. (4) the interaction between cooperative learning method with prior knowledge toward students achievement. (5) the interaction between cooperative learning method with mathematic ability toward students achievement. (6) the interaction between prior knowledge and mathematic ability toward students achievement. (7) the interaction between cooperative learning, prior knowledge and mathematic ability toward students achievement.
The research used experimental method. All of 10th grade students in SMA Negeri 3 Magelang who were divided in six classes were taken as the population. Four classes were taken as the samples using cluster random sampling technique. Prior knowledge, mathematic ability and student achievement were collected by test method, while the affective student’s achievement was collected by questioner method. Instrument try out carried out in SMA Negeri 2 Magelang. ANAVA three ways different cell was used as the statistical analysis.
The results were: (1) there were effects of TAI and GI methods toward cognitive (p=0.004) and affective (p=0.002) achievement. (2) there were effects of high prior knowledge and the lower ones toward cognitive (p=0.005) achievement but it didn’t give the same result for the affective (p=0.793) one. (3) there were effects of high mathematic ability and the lower ones toward cognitive (p=0.013) and affective (p=0.045) achievement. (4) there were no interaction between TAI and GI methods and prior knowladge toward cognitive (p=0.813) and affective (p=0.581) achievement. (5) there were no interaction between TAI and GI methods and mathematic ability toward cognitive (p=0.498) and affective (p=0.892) achievement.
